UAF Postpones Eastern Regional Cross Country Championships to New Dates

The competitions that were supposed be held on Saturday January 11th at Tuban play grounds in Kapchorwa Municipality have been pushed forward at the same venue.

The Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF), has extended the days for the Eastern regional country championships. 

The competitions that were supposed be held on Saturday January 11th at Tuban play grounds in Kapchorwa Municipality was pushed to Saturday January 25th at the same venue.

Beatrice Ayikoru, the general secretary at Uganda athletics federation in her letter seen by Uganda Radio Network, reveals that the Federation currently has national engagements coupled with a wedding of the national athlete Abel Sikowo and the 2nd Edition of Discovery Uganda Cross road run scheduled for 17th and 18th.

Dominic Otuchet, the president of UAF, has emphasized that team managers are obligated to register their athletes for UAF clearance to participate in the competition in adherence to UAF policies. 

 

In this year’s championships, over 1,000 runners are expected to register for the 2025 edition following that, it is a first cross country race opener.

The senior category will compete in the a 10km race while the junior category will do the 8km distance.
