Uganda's women basketball team, Gazelles suffered a second defeat on Friday at the on-going 2015 AfroBasketbal women's Championship in Yaounde, Cameroon.
After falling 70-39 in the opening Group A match to Gabon on Thursday, the Gazelles lost 73-50 to Mozambique.
Maureen Amoding was Uganda's highest scorer with 12 points in a game dominated by the Mozambique team that lost to hosts Cameroon on Day 1. Head coach Timothy Odeke said it was a case of in-experience that affected his team.
Uganda is grouped in Pool A alongside Gabon, Cameroon, Mozambique, South Africa and favourites Mali who won the All Africa Games title in Congo Brazzaville last week. Uganda will next face Cameroon on Saturday in a game they must win if they think of having a chance.
The event which has brought together 12 nations will climax on October 3 with the best team clinching the only direct qualifying berth on offer for African teams for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
