Uganda Martyrs have defeated the defending champions of the FUFA
Women Super League, Kawempe Muslim Ladies WFC 1-0. The game was played on
Tuesday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
Uganda Martyrs’ goal was a header scored by Gloria
Namugerwa in the first half.
Sharon Kaidhu, the Uganda Martyrs second goalkeeper attributed their win to the attractive football they played which she says will enable them to perform
beyond the group stages of the league.

Cue out…front of us,”
Kawempe’s coach, Moses Nkata says that they had planned to pass
through balls from the backline while transgressing towards their opponents’ 18-yard
box which would enable them to easily score, but this plan never worked and the
players failed to adjust, hence costing them the game.
Nkata adds that the girls used a lot of energy in Monday’s game
and most of them lost the momentum to perform their respective roles
effectively, which allowed their opponents to defend and register a win.
