Other positions include Vice President Technical in which Richard Muhumuza and
Denis Mpoza have expressed interest in the position. The position of treasurer
is being contested by Hajji Yusuf Kamuregeya and Aida Kibedi while Media and Publicity
have Yahaya Ssengabi and Florence Nakamya.
The elections faced a setback earlier in February
when delegates who had gathered at Uganda Hockey pitch in Lugogo for the Annual
General assembly expected to vote for their new leaders, however, the
incumbent Executive led by Anek rejected calls from delegates to step down
claiming that their term of office had not expired.
Anek was re-elected for a third term in November 2017, an election that had
been pushed from February that year because Uganda was hosting the 2017 Africa
Netball Championships. Now Anek, said she was elected in November 2017, her
term is supposed to end in November 2021.
However, the delegates and members of the Executive Board later agreed that
elections will be held on June 5 2021 and the executive will hand over to the
new executive in August.
