Tourism is one of Uganda’s top foreign exchange earners, contributing an estimated 7.7% to GDP and employing over 667,000 people prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, international arrivals have only slowly rebounded, and tourism earnings, are slowly raising to the pre-pandemic levels. The need for diversification of source markets has become urgent.
