Umukuuka Sir Bob Mushikori, the newly installed cultural leader of Inzu Ya Masaba is protesting the manner, in which he was blocked from attending President Yoweri Museveni\'s campaign rally in Bududa District last week.
Mushikori told URN in Mbale town this morning that he needs an explanation as to why Richard Todwong, the NRM Deputy Secretary General telephoned him on Saturday instructing him not to appear at Museveni\'s campaign rally in Bulucheke.
According to Mushikori, Todwong reportedly told him there was no need for him to attend the rally since there is another cultural leader in Bududa.
Bududa is home to Wash Kanyanya, the self-styled cultural leader of Babukusu Kindgom, which claims to be independent of Inzu Ya Masaba. He however, says Todwong has no powers to intervene in sensitive cultural matters.

According to Mushikori, he wants Museveni to use his capacity as the NRM party chairperson to compel Todwong to apologize to the Bamasaba for humiliating him and influencing Police to hold him at Bududa Central Police Station until the end of Museveni\'s rally.

But Richard Todwong, who doubles as the Minister Without Portfolio, told URN on phone that he intervened to stop the Umukuuka to avoid chaos since a group of Youths from Bududa were threatening to attack him.

Todwong denies calling Mushikori says it was James Ruhweza, the Elgon Regional Police Commander who called him to talk to the cultural leader since he had defied their pleas not to attend the rally.

During the rally, Kanyanya as his team petitioned Museveni to officially recognise his administration. In his response, Museveni said he would send the Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda to listen to their concerns and advise government accordingly.
