A Uganda Peoples Defence Forces-UPDF soldier attached to the Engineering Brigade in Magamaga town council, Mayuge district has been killed. The deceased has been identified as Sergeant Samson Emoding and was found lying along the rail line in Magamaga Town Council this morning.

His body had wounds on the shoulders, knees, hands and the neck. Residents also found bloodstains about 100 meters away from the spot where the deceased’s body was found.

Solomon Ndimulodi, a resident of Bridge zone says he last saw the deceased alive on Sunday evening. Ramadhan Namundi, another resident says they also noticed traces of vehicle tyres four meters away from deceased’s body.

“My house is just 20 meters away from where Emoding was dumped. I kept on hearing vehicles around my place throughout the night and it didn’t surprise me that traces of car tyres were cited near the deceased,” he said.

George Musinguzi, the UPDF Spokesperson in Busoga sub-region, says investigations are underway to establish circumstances surrounding Emoding’s death.
