Police in
the Kiira region, on Thursday, recovered the body of an unidentified man from a
sugarcane plantation, in Mutai-central zone, Jinja district.

alerted residents within the neighborhood, who in turn notified police
authorities to intervene.
The body was
taken to Buwenge Health Center IV mortuary, for postmortem.
Abdullah Mudabanda,
a resident, says that the deceased is not known in the area and efforts to
cross-check his particulars from the surrounding villages have not yielded any
results.
Mudabanda
suspects that the unidentified man was killed from another place and his body
dumped in their village.
The Deputy
Officer in charge of Mutai Police Station, Mohammed Tabu says that detectives
have been dispatched to expedite inquiries into his death.
Tabu also
adds that efforts of tracing the deceased's relatives are underway.
