Dan Oola Odiya, the Uganda People's Congress mobiliser for Northern Uganda has been arrested. His sister, Finny Odiya says the UPC official was picked up by plain clothed police officers near Amigos bar in Gulu municipality on Wednesday evening for unknown reason.
He was taken to the Aswa Region police headquarters and the 4th Division Army barracks before he was transferred to Gulu central police station at midnight. According to Finny Odiya, they only got to learn of Odiya's arrest from a Boda-boda rider who was traveling with him when he was picked up.
She told URN at Gulu Central Police Station that they are yet to know from the police why her brother was arrested.
