The State Minister for Disaster Preparedness Musa Ecweru who was in Kasese to assess the damage said the ministry had requested m the 222 Mountain Infantry Brigade of the UPDF to come in and aid in re-establishing key infrastructures that were destroyed. In the short run, the force will be desilting and re-organize Kilembe Mines Hospital.

Ecweru says the brigade under the command of Lt Col Denis Wanyama will be working between the two districts to mitigate the dangers and ensure that no lives are lost during this time. The force is also expected to establish a relocation unit for emergencies and be on standby to render airlift services.
