4,333 athletes have turned up for the Uganda Primary
Schools Sports Association (UPSSA) and Special Needs Education 2025
Championship in Kabale district.
The participants below 14 years are from
171 local governments out of 178 across the country.

Gilbert Orikiriza, the Education Officer in charge of
Physical Education at the Ministry of Education and Sports, asked the
government to increase annual Conditional Grants for Sports Development from 60
million shillings to at least 100 million shillings. Out of the total, 10
million is allocated to fund capacity Building, shillings 10 million to fund
scouting, Music, Dance and Drama and the rest is allocated to fund sports
