Two Members of Parliament of Bukomansimbi risk being recalled for allegedly ignoring their constituencies.

Susan Namaganda, the Bukomansimbi District Woman Members of Parliament and Deogratias Kiyingi, of Bukomansimbi constituency are being accused of abandoning their constituency, since they assumed their offices.

Led by Issa Sansa, the LC3 Chairman of Kitanda Sub county and Joseph Kakooza  a voter from Bukomansimbi town council, the voters have started gathering signatures to recall both Namaganda and Kiyingi for alleged incompetence, abandonment and failure to consult them on many issues affecting them.

Ssansa says they have so far gathered more than 100 signatures to have their MPs out of parliament.

Sansa says they have also sent a letter to Bukomansimbi Chief Administrative officer Solomon Sonko and Muhammad Kateregga, the LC5 Chairman notifying them about their intention to recall and seek legal advice on how to hatch their plot. Ssansa claims that both Namaganda and Kiyingi have failed to adhere to their respective manifestos which won them votes.

Ssansa claims that MP Kiyingi is incompetent because he has never stood on the floor of parliament to discuss anything. He says  the two officials have never convened any rally or meeting to consult them.

Joseph Kakooza, another voter from Bukomansimbi accuses MP Kiyingi and Namaganda of closing their offices after they were sworn into office. Kakooza explains that the closure of their respective offices which were initially a meeting point in Bukomansimbi town council shows they are no longer concerned about what goes on in their constituencies.

The chief administrative officer, Solomon Ssonko says the two MPs have constantly snubed the council meetings despite the constant reminders given to them.

Deogratias Kiyingi, the Bukomansimbi MP denies abandoning his constituency. He claims that he was abroad on a business trip and promised to meet his constituents this weekend.

But efforts to reach Suzan Namaganda, the district Woman Member of Parliament were futile. She declined to pick her phone calls and she also failed to reply a text message when contacted on phone.

Last year, Kooki residents also threatened to recall their member of Parliament Amos Mandela whom they accuse of having become a yes-man in parliament. The voters claim that ever since Mandela was elected, he has never stood on the floor of parliament to discuss issues affecting the country.
