Voting Underway In Bunyangabu

At Kibiito town council polling station, Deo Gamukama, the Presiding Officer said that 16 people had so far voted. At Rubona A polling station, 25 people had so far voted by 7:30a.m.
Polling officials verifying details of a voter at Kibiito town council polling station
 The elections for the Bunyangabu district woman Member of Parliament and LC V Chairperson have kicked off. Voting started by 7:15am at 10 polling stations visited by URN.

At Kibiito town council polling station, Deo Gamukama, the Presiding Officer said that 16 people had so far voted. At Rubona A polling station, 25 people had so far voted by 7:30a.m.

In the hard to reach sub counties of Katebwa, Kabonero and Kiyombya voting had also started by 7:15a.m. Voting materials were delivered to the sub counties on Wednesday afternoon.

The contestants for the Woman MP seat are Peace Mutuzo, the State Minister for Gender and Culture and Dorothy Nyakaisiki of the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party.

James Ategeka of the National Resistance Movement- NRM party and Silver Tweyongire of the FDC are contesting for LCV Chairperson seat.

Valley Kanzira the Bunyangabu District Registrar says there are 293 polling stations in the district. There is heavy deployment of police in Rwimi, Rubona, Kibiito and Kyamukube town councils.
