Kirabira says that the NRM government cannot abduct its people yet this was one of the atrocities that took President Yoweri Museveni and his colleagues to the fight a bush war which ousted the Obote government in 1986.
Wakiso Resident District commissioner (RDC) Rose Kirabira
has dismissed claims that that government is involved with the abductions and detentions without trial of people by masked armed men currently being reported in major towns within
the country.
Kirabira says that the NRM government cannot abduct its people
yet this was one of the atrocities that took President Yoweri Museveni and his
colleagues to the fight which ousted the Obote government in 1986.
A number of people in Kampala and other parts of the country
have of recent been reported missing and abducted by masked gunmen travelling in
tinted vehicles without registration number plates and indeed some have already
been confirmed dead.
President Yoweri Museveni recently apologized to the nation
for the brutal killing of one Isaac Sennyange alias Zebra Mando a Bwaise based
boxer who was shot in the head by armed men who allegedly
invaded his home late in the night. Museveni said that he was personally taking
interest in Mando’s murder after realizing that it was security men who
erroneously ended his life. Mukono Municipality MP Bety NAmbooze subsequently asked why if it was government security personnel that Sennyange dead, they left the body and took off like robbers or murderers instead of taking it for proper process.
Kirabira says that it is not worthy for Ugandans to support
opposition candidates who have no experience in leadership and leave the
government which has been in power for more than 30 years and therefore having
all the experience to protect their lives and property.
She says that as member of the security team, she has never
attended or heard of a meeting that discussed or planned to abduct Ugandans.
// “cue in: kati
oyinza otya ..
Cue out: .. era nga tubalaza wa?” //
Kirabira has assured Ugandans that each of them will vote for
the candidate of their choice as long as they are registered as voters but
warned them against contradicting the guidelines issued by the electoral
commission.
She also stressed the need to avoid making threats as some
people have, saying that the end results may not be good to the culprits.
// “cue in: we are ready ..
Cue out: .. ffe twagala mirembe,” //
However, Medard Lubega Seggona insists that it is the NRM
government which is abducting and arresting the people it thinks have divergent
political viewsto what it believes in. He is challenging the regime to accept
change and allow Uganda to have a peaceful transition via the 14th January
elections.
