According to Nansubuga, Kawuma has been the sole bread winner of the family, saying his murder has left them hopeless. She asks Kyagulanyi to provide for the family since her husband was killed while serving him.
The widow of Yasin Kawuma, the slain driver of Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi wants the legislator to take care of her family. Yasin Kawuma was shot dead on Monday evening around Hotel Pacific in Arua town following skirmishes involving security and the supporters of Kasiano Wadri, one of the candidates in Arua municipality parliamentary by-elections.
According to Police, the chaos started after some people donning Wadri's campaign t-shirts pelted the president's convoy with stones as President, Yoweri Museveni was leaving Boma grounds where he had attended the last campaign rally for the NRM party candidate, Nusura Tiperu.
Police Spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, said the hooligans smashed the windscreen of the president's lead car prompting security to open fire to disperse them. URN visited Kawuma's widow, Annet Nansubuga at her home in Lusanja village in Kasangati Town Council in Wakiso district. Nansubuga says her husband's death caught her unawares since he didn't inform her that he was heading to Arua.
The mother of a-one-year old girl notes that while leaving home on Thursday, Kawuma told her, he was going to Bugiri where he had secured a part time job for driving. Nansubuga, however, says to her surprise, she saw a photo of the body of her lifeless husband in a car doing several rounds on different social media platforms on Monday evening.

Bobi Wine couldn't be reached for comment and his whereabouts were still unknown since he was picked up by police on Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile dozens of people are holding a vigil at the home of Kawuma's elder brother only identified as Male in Lusanje Kabwoko waiting for his body.
Male told the mourners at around 4pm on Tuesday that they had received the body and were preparing to move it to Kampala. He however, received communication from Arua 30 minutes later indicating that police had ordered the body returned to the mortuary.
Kawuma's son, Edirisa Ssebabi couldn't contain his tears upon hearing the news and decided to walk to away from home and seek company in the trading center. Ssebabi told URN with tears rolling down his eyes that the death of his father was a huge blow to the family and wants those his death brought to book.
The 20-year-old student of Tractor Operation and Mechanics at Mwererwe Institute in Matugga, said his father has been the sole provider of the family and hopes government will take fully responsibility for the actions of its officers behind his father's death.
Kawuma's other brother, Abdusalam Mutumba, says they are still waiting for a conclusive report from police detailing the circumstances surrounding their sibling's death. Local music artist, Ronald Mayinja who joined mourners condemned the actions of the security operatives behind Kawuma's death.
He blamed security for using excessive force against unarmed youths who are struggling to fight for their rights. A tentative program shows that Kawuma's body will be laid to rest on Wednesday at his ancestral home in Ssango Buwama Mpigi District at 4pm.
