Kiwanuka and Nalule in the court dock at Buganda Road Court this afternoon.
Court has remanded two people accused of trying to cast a spell on the seat of Buganda Road court chief magistrate. 80-year-old Issa Kiwanuka, a witchdoctor and resident of Mityana District and 38-year-old Alice Nalule, a resident of Bulenga in Wakiso District appeared this afternoon before James Ereemye, the principal Buganda Road Court grade one magistrate.

The duo was charged with criminal trespass at Buganda Road court, contrary to section 302 (b) of the Penal Code Act. According to the charge sheet before court, prosecution alleges that on January 12th 2015, while at Buganda Road court in Kampala district, Kiwanuka and Nalule, having lawfully entered into one of the court room, remained there with intent to intimidate or insult or annoy Johnson Basiime, a Police Officer.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges and applied for bail, which was rejected since they didn\'t produce substantive sureties. Nalule produced two witnesses including her 91- year-old father and another who lacked proper identification regarding her place of residence.

Kiwanuka didn\'t present sureties in court to stand in for him. Both suspects did not have a lawyer to represent them. As a result, the presiding magistrate sent them to Luzira Prison until Wednesday next week when their case will be heard since investigations are complete.

Trouble for the duo started on Tuesday morning this week after a court officials only identified as Justine caught Kiwanuka red handed in the court room casting a spell on the seats of Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate, Jansom Karemani and that of the state prosecutor.

On being interrogated by Police at court, Kiwanuka revealed that he had been contracted by Nalule to cast a spell on the seat of the magistrate to soften his heart to release her husband Zacchaeus Ssekiziyivu, who is facing more than 100 charges of obtaining money by false pretense. Ssekiziyivu\'s case was scheduled to come that very day.
