Mario Ociti, the Officer in charge of Wobulenzi Police Station says that police was tipped off by Judith Nabaggala, a neighbor to the deceased following a heavy stench from her room.
Robinah Namubiru, a teacher attached to Bright Academy Primary School in Wobulenzi town council has been found dead. Police retrieved the deceased’s body from her rented room in Kitante Zone on Tuesday morning. Mario Ociti, the Officer in charge of Wobulenzi Police Station says that they got a tip off from Judith Nabaggala, a neighbor to the deceased because of the heavy stench that was coming from her room. He says that they broke the door to the house to get access into the deceased's room since it was locked from outside.
Ociti says that after opening the door, they found the deceased’s decomposing body lying on a bedcover. He says that they found marks on the body indicating that there was a scuffle before the teacher was killed. He says that a post Mortem conducted at the scene by Dr. David Mubeezi indicates that Namubiru was strangled to death. He says that preliminary police investigations show that the deceased was attacked by unidentified thugs who stole her TV and radio set.
Police believes that the thugs could have strangled Namubiru to death after realizing that she had identified them. He says that they have launched investigations to find the culprits and prosecute them. Ocit says that police has handed over the body of the deceased to her relatives for burial.
