Woman, Granddaughter Electrocuted in Namisindwa

According to preliminary police findings, the two were electrocuted when they came into contact with live electric cables from an illegal connection.

Two people have been electrocuted in Namisindwa district. The dead are Catherine Munika 36, and 7-year-old granddaughter, Sofia Naume, both residents of Mubono village in Mukhuyu sub-county.

The two were found dead on Wednesday afternoon. According to preliminary police findings, the two were electrocuted when they came into contact with live electric cables from an illegal connection. 

Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Regional Police Spokesperson, says that the deceased’s bodies are lying at Mbale City mortuary pending post-mortem. Taitika has cautioned the public against illegal connections.
