A man in his early forties was on Wednesday morning found dead in the Rock Gardens lodge in Kasese Municipality.

The Acting Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations at the Kasese Central Police Station Edward Tibamanya identified the dead only as Bwambale who hails from Bundibugyo district.

Tibamanya said that Bwambale was discovered dead by a cleaner who had gone to clean the premises at 8am.

Bwambale, who had been in charge of security at the Rock Gardens, was found lying in a sofa seat at the lodge’s reception.

Bwambale had stripped naked before sleeping.

There are also reports that the deceased has also been acting as the manager of the lodge. An empty bottle of soda and left overs of mandazi were found on the ground near the dead body.

A close friend Moses Baluku said the deceased has been sick for four days and had been taking pain killers.

Baluku said Bwambale had told him he had sought permission to go home but was still waiting for the answer from his boss.

When contacted, the Rock Gardens lodge proprietor Mr. Fabiano Mabunda confirmed he had knowledge about Bwambale’s sickness and was planning to grant him leave for medication.

The OC/CID condemned the act by the employer who he said was not responsible for the welfare of his employees.

The body was taken to Kasese Municipal Council mortuary for a post-mortem and  as authorities wait for relatives to retrieve the deceased.
